We have provided answers to some of our most-asked glazing questions here:

Q. What bathroom and kitchen fixtures and surfaces can be refinished?

A. Our reglazing system works beautifully on: porcelain bathtubs, sinks, fiberglass shower enclosures, pedestal sinks, ceramic tile, Formica countertops, claw foot tubs, plastic tubs, oven doors, refrigerators, dishwashers, kitchen cabinets, cultured marble counter tops, shower pans, bathroom floors, and various fiberglass and acrylic surfaces and more.

Q. Will my bathtub or counter top look painted?

A. Definitely NOT. You probably won’t be able to tell the difference between a new bathtub and reglazed one. Reglazing will make that old chipped, stained, or color-dated item look "like new" again.

Q. How long will it take?

A. One of the key benefits of reglazing is that it can usually be completed in a few hours. Our reglazed bathtubs can be used in 24 hours and are fully cured in 48 hours.

Q. How do I clean and maintain my reglazed fixture? We recommend Tile Revive Inc. shower and tub cleaner, a specially designed cleaner made for reglazed fixtures, with a sponge or soft cloth. This strong but non-abrasive cleaner will safely keep your fixture clean without dulling the gloss like any abrasive cleaner will do. Do NOT use abrasives, scotchbrite pads, acids, Tilex, Soft scrub, Comet etc.

Q. What if my bathtub or counter top is damaged?

A. Small chips and cracks can be repaired during the cleaning and preparation stage of refinishing. Tile Revive Inc. will inform you if the chip or cracks cannot be repaired prior to reglazing your fixture.

Q. How long will it last?

A. A reglazed bathroom or kitchen fixture should easily last 10 to 15 years or longer with proper care and maintenance. Again, we recommend using Tile Revive Inc. shower and tub cleaner for maintaining your refinished surface.

Q. What if my fixture was previously reglazed?

A. Surfaces that have been previously painted or glazed will need to pass our adhesion and compatibility test. If testing shows that a proper bond exists, the item will need to be wet sanded prior to reglazing. If the bond fails, the fixture will need to be chemically stripped. Both wet sanding and stripping will be an additional cost. Stripping is not available for cultured or fiberglass fixtures.

Q. Just what is The Glaze - is it Real Porcelain?

A. No, it's not actually porcelain. It's a high solids synthetic, which when applied, hardens to a beautiful high gloss porcelain-like luster. The Tile Revive formula is a unique formula and process developed specifically for bathtubs and tested to meet the highest standards of product performance, quality and durability.

Q. In Redecorating My Bathroom, Should I Have Tile Revive Inc. in first?

A. Walls around the tub should be repaired or replaced, as well as any plumbing problems. Painting, wallpapering, shower doors, carpeting and tile should be done after reglazing. We also install and renovate.

Q. What About My Tub Door?

A. Doors must be removed prior to refinishing the tub. Please contact us if this is a problem.

Q. Do you offer a warranty?

A. Yes. We offer a 6 year written bathtub reglazing warranty. 95% of all failures occur in the first 6 months of use. Certain situations may void a warranty.
